I have been at Hotwire now for 4 years. Some of my favorite hobbies/ activities is watching my Hawks play, being an avid hiker and mediocre golfer. My favorite aspect of Hotwire is the strong community involvement and excellent coffee.
ELISE P- SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
Having been a barista on and off for the last 7+ years, Hotwire is by-far my favorite coffee shop. (And I’m only partly obligated to say that.) I made coffee all throughout high school and college, and in 2016 I graduated from Western Washington University. After graduating, I spent a year in Aspen, Colorado working at a local yoga studio and exploring the beautiful Rocky Mountains with my Fiancé, Joe. When I’m not at Hotwire making coffee or updating the social media, you can find me leading classes at Hot Feet Fitness or hiking with my puppy, Maverick.
Hotwire has been my home for 10+ years, and I don't see myself REALLY leaving anytime soon. There are no words to describe the impact the relationships I've built here have had on my life, both personally and professionally. My Hotwire customers and coworkers are my family. They're never judged me (outwardly) about how many times I've seen Pearl Jam play, and that alone says a lot. They've seen me at my low-down worst and have helped me get through it. They've inspired me to work hard, reach for bigger things, and to never give up. At Hotwire I've seen babies grow up and "babies" graduate high school and head off to college. I've bawled my eyes out at the news of customers passing away; people I miss dearly and still think about daily. My favorite things in life include drinks and food, so coming in to work and taking the time to carefully prepare customers' drinks in order to make their days brighter leaves me feeling satisfied. Thank you for being the best customers, coworkers, and bosses (Jeff, Ang, and Lora) in West Seattle (actually, the world), and thank you for trusting me to do my thang.
MADDISON N I love being a barista for many reasons, I look forward to the chilly, early mornings in which I get to be the person who starts your morning off right. I never fail to smile as I see the look on the faces of the little ones who are being handed their sprinkle filled cocoa. I love that despite West Seattle being quite the bustling city, we have a small town feeling with a strong sense of community, which I get to be an active part of by being the one to craft your lattes ❣️
I'm Gabby, the resident couch potato at Hotwire. I love working in West Seattle cuz it has that neighborhood feeling but it's far enough away from my actual hometown that I'm not running into people I went to high school with.
Coffee is my third favorite legal* substance to consume. It's complexity means it can be prepared in a wide variety of ways, which is exactly what Hotwire does with all of it's unique flavor combinations--keeping me as interested in what comes next as some of our customers. My goal is to keep putting more and more delicious things into my mouth, and it's great to be working at a cafe that lets me do just that!
In my free time I work at my dissertation of contemporary feline artistic expression (via new medias and technologies).
I love being a barista because there is truly something special about coffee shops, a place where people of all types can come together and share opinions and stories. I have the best days when I’ve learned something new from a customer or had a really meaningful/stupid/funny/political/crazy conversation, especially over a cup of coffee. Or of course we can just talk about Game of Thrones!
Hi, I’m Jade! I have been making coffee for about eight years now and I hope to one day own my own drive thru espresso stand somewhere warm and sunny! I wish it was always clear skies and 85 degrees, I’m the sun baby of Hotwire :) My favorite espresso drink to make is a cappuccino and my drink of choice is cold brew with macadamia syrup and half&half.
